Beneath the Crimson Moon’s Deceit

Previous Chapter List
Crimson light bled across the sky as a swan song for a treacherous night. Inside the grand hall of the Council, ancient tapestries whispered long-forgotten lies, and flickering torches cast jagged shadows that danced like restless phantoms. Arlen stood before the assembly, heart pounding like a drum of war. ‘‘I ask for mercy,’’ his voice broke, echoing among cold stone walls. ‘‘The curse is not a chain but a weapon wielded by a far deadlier foe.’’ Councilor Mavren’s eyes gleamed with icy disdain. ‘‘Words are wind, mage. Your broken pact has condemned us all. We must sever this threat before it consumes everything.’’ Suddenly, the hall doors slammed open. Kaela burst in, breath ragged, clutching a blood-stained scroll. ‘‘Wait!’’ she cried, ‘‘There is betrayal within these walls. The true enemy wears the guise of ally!’’ Gasps and murmurs chased the air like a rising storm. Eyes flicked nervously, suspicion sprouting like wildfire. Arlen’s gaze locked onto Councilor Lira, whose lips twitched in a cruel smirk. ‘‘Your secrets unravel tonight,’’ Kaela said, voice sharp as shattered glass. Tension snapped as shadows spilled forward—figures cloaked in spectral armor, bearing wounds that refused to heal. The curse was no longer just a binding shackle; it was a curse of blood, betrayal, and fractured allegiances. Arlen was thrust into an impossible choice: expose the traitor and ignite a war that could tear realms apart, or conceal the truth and become a pawn in a deadly game. His hands clenched, eyes burning with fury and fear. ‘‘What will I sacrifice to save this fractured world?’’ he whispered. The crimson moon watched silently, a deceitful witness to the breaking of all bonds. And the true nightmare was just dawning.
